Dearest Beginning,

In writing this letter I am boldly speaking for all of those who have ever met you.  For anyone who has ever come to the end of something in their life, whether good or bad.  Nearly everyone you meet has gained or lost, failed or prospered, or has finally been faced with the daunting life lesson of learning to let go.  Each of these people, myself included, has come to you in range from the high-spirited, wide-eyed, opportunist who just got a break to the broken-hearted, jaded, crushed spirit who needs another chance. Each of these you welcome with open arms and provide a fresh start.  You are the constant encouragement through dark times, you are the still small voice saying "It's okay.  Don't worry.  I'm still here.  Dust yourself off and start again."  Although at times you make facing the most impossible of tasks seem just that, you make failures and missed opportunities seem inconsequential.

So in the name of all of those who have needed you, been changed by you, or will meet you again along life's path---thank you.  Thank you for never letting me give up on myself and others.  Thank you for your quiet encouragement and subtle strength.  Thank you in advance for when we met again.

Indebted,
Bowie Zeplin

"Man is wise and constantly in quest of more wisdom; but the ultimate wisdom, which deals with beginnings, remains locked in a seed. There it lies, the simplest fact of the universe and at the same time the one which calls forth faith rather than reason."
